Arabic Transliteration English
كَمِ السَّاعَةُ؟
 kam as-sāʿatu? What time is it?
كَمِ السَّاعَةُ الآنَ؟
 kam as-sāʿatu al-ʾān? What time is it now?
فِي أَيِّ سَاعَةٍ ...؟
 fī ayy sāʿah … ? At what time...?
الوَاحِدَة
 al-wāḥidah one (o'clock)
الثَّانِيَة
 ath-thāniyah two (o'clock)
الثَّالِثَة
 ath-thāliṯah three (o'clock)
الرَّابِعَة
 ar-rābiʿah four (o'clock)
الخَامِسَة
 al-khāmisah five (o'clock)
السَّادِسَة
 as-sādisah six (o'clock)
السَّابِعَة
 as-sābiʿah seven (o'clock)
الثَّامِنَة
 ath-thāminah eight (o'clock)
التَّاسِعَة
 at-tāsiʿah nine (o'clock)
العَاشِرَة
 al-ʿāširah ten (o'clock)
الحَادِيَة عَشْرَة
 al-ḥādiyata ʿašrah eleven (o'clock)
الثَّانِيَة عَشْرَة
 ath-thāniyata ʿašrah twelve (o'clock)
السَّاعَةُ الواحِدَةُ
 as-sāʿatu l-wāḥidah It is one o'clock.
السَّاعَةُ الثَّانِيَةُ
 as-sāʿatu th-thāniyah It is two o'clock.
السَّاعَةُ الخامِسَةُ
 as-sāʿatu l-khāmisah It is five o'clock.
السَّاعَةُ العاشِرَةُ
 as-sāʿatu l-ʿāširah It is ten o'clock.
والنِّصف
 wa n-niṣf and half
والرُّبْع
 wa r-rubʿ and quarter (15 min)
إلّا الرُّبْع
 illā r-rubʿ minus quarter (45 min)
السَّاعَةُ الثَّالِثَةُ وَالنِّصْفُ
 as-sāʿatu th-thāliṯah wa-n-niṣf Half past three.
السَّاعَةُ الرَّابِعَةُ وَالرُّبْعُ
 as-sāʿatu r-rābiʿah wa-r-rubʿ Quarter past four.
السَّاعَةُ الخامِسَةُ إِلَّا الرُّبْعَ
 as-sāʿatu l-khāmisata illā r-rubʿ Quarter to five (4:45).
السَّاعَةُ السَّادِسَةُ إِلَّا الرُّبْعَ
 as-sāʿatu s-sādisata illā r-rubʿ Quarter to six (5:45).
دَقِيقَة
 daqīqah minute (sing.)
دَقَائِق
 daqāʾiq minutes (pl.)
السَّاعَةُ الوَاحِدَةُ وَعَشْرُ دَقَائِق
 as-sāʿatu l-wāḥidah wa ʿašru daqāʾiq Ten past one (1:10).
السَّاعَةُ الثَّانِيَةُ إِلَّا خَمْسَ دَقَائِق
 as-sāʿatu th-thāniyah illā khamsa daqāʾiq Five to two (1:55).
السَّاعَةُ الحَادِيَةَ عَشْرَةَ إِلَّا عَشْرَ دَقَائِق
 as-sāʿatu l-ḥādiyata ʿašrah illā ʿašra daqāʾiq Ten to eleven (10:50).
فِي أَيِّ سَاعَةٍ يَبْدَأُ الدَّرْسُ؟
 fī ayy sāʿah yabdaʾu d-darsu? At what time does the lesson start?
فِي أَيِّ سَاعَةٍ تَجِيءُ؟
 fī ayy sāʿah tajīʾu? At what time are you coming?
